Managing Fear In A New Bull Market

Our opinion is that you are not in an old tired bull market now. You are in the first year of the “next new bull market.”

If this is true, your thinking about how to trade needs to change. You should no longer seek to get into and out of a trade quickly and make 25 to 75 cents per share. Now the stocks will go from support to resistance far more often, in fact, that will be the norm except when there is a major market correction, or a negative news item on the particular stock you are trading.

Our thinking should change to expecting to be in a Step 1 or 2 trade for two weeks (not a day or two, but longer), and we should expect the stock to move $5, $7, $10 etc. I know this is new to many of you, but this is how free markets work, and President Trump has put things in motion to create this free market condition once again. How do we deal with lingering fear from bad trades of the old market?

2 Timothy 1:6–12

6 Wherefore I put thee in remembrance that thou stir up the gift of God, which is in thee by the putting on of my hands.

11 Whereunto I am appointed a preacher, and an apostleand a teacher of the Gentiles.

The “laying on of hands” here is a Jewish practice. The imparting of a prophetic gift was done by the laying on of hands in the O.T. and the early predominately Jewish church. ...Not so in the church age after the transition to a predominately Gentile church. This transition may be seen in the book of acts. The point for us is that Jesus has given us gift and we need to stir them up, and use them!

7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

Dunamis force (lit. or fig.); spec. miraculous power (usually by impl. a miracle itself):—ability, abundance, might, power, strength, mighty (wonderful) work.

sōphrŏnismŏs, discipline, i.e. self-control

The way to manage fear is to understand we have the same power that raised Jesus from the dead, within us. Miraculous power to overcome sin habits, to learn new skills, to change our lives, our families, the world.

...To understand that God loves us in a way we cannot even comprehend, the height, depth, length, and width of His love is multidimensional. We need not fear men or what they can do to us. We must understand we are already joint heirs with Christ.

...To understand that we must have discipline in our lives (keep the trading rules) and this discipline will remove fear.

9 Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began,
10 But is now made manifest by the appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel:

12 For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day.

We must understand that God knew us with love before the foundation of the world, and called us to Himself (because we were His) in space and time.

We must understand we do not die to get eternal life, we have it now!

We must understand that it is Jesus’ responsibility to keep us saved, NOT OURS—it is the shepherd’s responsibility, not the sheep’s. We thus have eternal security. If we have that, why fear anything else?!
