Stop Chasing Money

Stop chasing money! So many people are after money all the time. They go to work for 8, 9, 10, even 12 hours a day sometimes to get a paycheck! Then they throw a whole bunch of money into bank accounts and go, "Alright. It's there. Let's not touch it!"

Okay, so it's important to save. I understand that. We've got to save money. The Bible tell us that we're supposed to store up for our children and our children's children. But, if you start hoarding your money, and you’re trying to make money just for the sake of having it sit in a bank account, you're going to lose it, because inflation is going to catch up to you! It's just an age-old problem. The more money just sits doing nothing, the more it gets eaten away by inflation.

We tend to be scared to spend our money. We get scared to use it for big things like starting businesses, and even small things like buying groceries. We get obsessed with things like couponing. Not that couponing is a bad thing, right? But sometimes we'll take it too far and spend way too much of our time looking for the best deal before we actually spend the money. If we allow “saving money” to take up too much of our time, we are going to use a more valuable commodity there. Our time is infinitely more valuable than our money, so we shouldn't use too much of it constantly focusing on trying to save money.

It's important to save, it's important to make money, but don't chase it, and don't hoard it. Don't make it the ultimate goal. Make good things in your life, the things that you want to do with your family, the things you want to do with your business and with your ministries, make those your goals, and use your money to reach those goals!
